Picture 087

I think this photo is a pretty accurate representation of what my life used to be. At the time this picture was taken, I was working weekends as an RN in a cardiac Intensive Care Unit, finishing up graduate school, and managing my home and kids all the hours in between. My graduation from Nurse Practitioner school was to be the day I got my life back, a day I looked forward to with the intensity and excitement of a 2 year old discovering there is a Bubble Guppies marathon on NickJr. Alas, as things usually go, life after graduate school has not been the mirage I had envisioned. My first part-time Nurse Practitioner job was not at all what I expected, my husband was laid off from his job, my parents got divorced, and my husband’s mother is struggling with health issues. My husband and I are now undergoing a complete transition in parental roles. I will be working full-time as a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner and my husband will be home with our kids and getting a home business off the ground.

LFM 2013

I have a passion for swimming and running, I bike only because it is a necessary evil of triathlon. After having my two boys, I made my return to marathon running with a less than stellar performance at the 2013 Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. With less time than ever before I am plotting my marathon redemption race and returning to the sport of triathlon in a major way. Transitioning to a completely plant-based, vegan diet has helped take my training and health to a whole new level.
